Walgreens Deal:

I'm still trying to figure out all of the CVS and Walgreens deals, but here is one good for this week that I found-

......if you get multiple papers, or if you have a printer. This week buy a bottle of Dove body wash for $5.99 get a $6 register reward (RR). Buy one pack of Huggies diapers or pull ups for $8.99 get a register reward for $3. Here's how to get them pretty cheap. You'll have to spend about $5 to get started, unless you have some register rewards from last week.

Transaction #1:
1 bottle Dove Mens bodywash $5.99

Use the following coupons:$1.50 printable Dove coupon, or $1.25 coupon from Sunday paper

Pay $4.49 or $4.74 and get a $6 register reward

Transaction #2
1 package Huggies diapers or Pull Ups $8.99
1 Valentines pencil with eraser

Use the following coupons:
$2 Huggies diapers (printable) or $2 Huggies Pull Ups from Sunday paper
$1 Walgreens Huggies coupon (from kids coloring book found at the pharmacy)
$6 register reward from the above Dove purchaseWalgreens
5/$1 store ad coupon for pencil
Total .19 plus tax and get a $3 register reward

Order #3
1 Dove body wash $5.99
1 Valentines pencil with eraser
Use the following coupons:
$1.50 Dove coupon
$3 register reward from Huggies order above
5/$1 Walgreens coupon from store ad for pencil

Total $1.69 plus get a $6 register reward

Keep going back and forth between the two deals, using the $6 Dove RR to pay for the Huggies, and the $3 Huggies RR to pay for the Dove You need the .20 pencil in the order, or you'll have more coupons than items, so buying a cheap pencil or bag for .20 will tell the register to accept the RR.

RR= Register Rewards (you can use this like cash @ walgreens)

Couponing

As most of you know, I LOVE a great deal! Unfortunately, couponing has been a huge downfall of mine in my thrifty little world. So after a failed attempt @ couponing a couple of weeks ago, I'm going to give it another shot! I think that my problem was that I was just an unorganized MESS! I tried to cut and then group the coupons, then came into the room moments later to see my 5 year old going through my coupons and stuffing all of the pictures of things that he "wanted me to buy" into a ziploc baggy! Hopefully getting organized will help me solve my problems! I'm going to the store today to buy a few things to hopefully help me out! Here's what I plan to buy and how I plan to organize my coupons to avoid coupon cotastrophe!

Three ring binder
Baseball card sleeves or something similar
Index dividers

I plan to clip my coupons and immediately put them under their appropriate label! I'm so hoping that this works! I am hearing of all of my friends saving tons of $ couponing and I'm ready to get on the bandwagon! Thanks to all of my couponing friends for the motivation! I will keep you updated on my progress:O)

Homemade Laundry soap

Yes I "make" our laundry soap! It saves money and works great! Here are a couple of recipes I like to use.

Laundry Soap:

What you'll need-

5 gallon bucket (I drove through Burger King and they gave me one for free)
One bar of grated soap (I use Ivory and grate it w/ my cheese grater)
1/2 C. Borax
1 C Washing soda (I find this @ Kroger by the detergents)

First bring 4 C. water almost to a boil. Add your grated soap and cook until melted. Fill bucket w/ three gallons of hot water and add your 4 C. of soapy water to bucket. Add your 1 C. Washing soda and 1/2 C. Borax and stir for a couple of minutes until dissolved. Let cool overnight- you will have a bucket of slime in the moring that works great as laundry soap! Use about 8 oz. per load.

Laundry Soap the Simple Way!:

2 Gallons Hot Water in large bucket w/ lid

1 Bar Grated Soap (any kind you like)

2 Cups Baking Soda

Bring about 4 C. water to almost a boil and add your grated soap. Stir until melted (this takes a while). Pour your soap mixture into your hot water and stir. Add 2 C. baking soda and stir until dissolved! Let sit over night. Use 1/2 cup for regular loads! That's it! Effective, inexpensive, and easy as pie to make!

I also make our all purpose cleaner- so thought it would be helpful to share as well!

All Purpose Cleaner:

1- 32 oz. spray bottle
1/2 cup liquid dish soap
1/4 C. vinegar
A few drops of Tea Tree Oil

Mix all ingredients in bottle and fill w/ hot water! Works great on everything from windows to carpet! I remove all of our carpet stains w/ this solution and it works better than anything I've ever tried! Tea Tree is a natural dissinfectant, so this also works great on countertops and in your bathroom!

What's for Dinner

Shepherds Pie

find the recipe here:

A truly yummy meal that will feed an army!

Tip: I almost always cook my hamburger meat as soon as I get home w/ it! I season it, brown it, and freeze it in freezer bags! I buy and cook this in bulk so that I get many meals out of it! It makes my day a whole lot easier when I can just pop a bag already cooked out of the freezer for cooking day! I do this as well for chicken- just boil as soon as you get home, shred and freeze in bags!
